Get to know Josh!
Josh Church is a lifelong Alaskan, Marine veteran, business leader, and community servant who has been selected by Dave Bronson as his choice for Lieutenant Governor of Alaska.
Born in Alaska to a family that has called the state home for nearly a century, Josh grew up with a deep respect for hard work and service. As a young man, he spent time living in Oregon and the Philippines before returning home. He began his college education at the University of Alaska Fairbanks while working construction in his family’s business to pay his way, helping build projects across the state from Valdez to Ruby to the North Slope.
Josh served nine years in the United States Marine Corps with Marine Reconnaissance and Marine Special Operations, including assignments with 3rd Raider Battalion and 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion. His service took him to multiple combat zones and deployments across five continents. Trusted with responsibilities ranging from leading combat patrols to managing the procurement and movement of millions of dollars in equipment, Josh coordinated international deployments, helped train hundreds of U.S. and partner-nation special operations forces, and oversaw overseas training facilities, including live-fire ranges and armories. Operating in high-risk environments shaped his calm, disciplined approach to leadership and decision-making under pressure.
After returning to Alaska in 2016, Josh started a small construction company and began investing in local real estate while completing his bachelor’s degree at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He later joined Arbor Capital Management, where he serves as an Investment Adviser Representative, helping individuals, families, and organizations reduce uncertainty, manage risk, and build long-term financial stability. His professional background has reinforced the importance of transparency, accountability, and responsible stewardship.
Josh’s commitment to Alaska extends well beyond business. He was appointed to the Alaska Civilian Armed Services Team by Governor Mike Dunleavy and currently serves on the Fairbanks City Finance Committee. He has also served on the Golden Valley Electric Association Member Advisory Committee, the Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Control Commission, and the FNSB Investment Advisory Committee. He is a lifetime member of the NRA and Gun Owners of America.
As Lieutenant Governor, Josh Church will be a strong advocate for election integrity, ensuring Alaska’s elections are secure, transparent, and trusted by voters. He is also committed to upholding the rule of law, restoring fiscal discipline, strengthening our economy, and making sure the state government works for Alaskans—not bureaucracies.
Josh’s greatest joy is his family. He is married to Ruth Church, a Captain and paramedic with the Steese Fire Department, and they are raising their daughter and two sons in Interior Alaska. An avid outdoorsman, Josh enjoys hunting, hiking, dip-netting, snow machining, four-wheeling, and spending time outdoors in the Last Frontier.
